Welcome to My AICE Media Studies Blog!

                     I N T R O D U C T I O N

Hello, dream team! As the grandeur raconteur, it is my duty to cure all your boredom, as promised. The key to your entertainment lies here at WilDreams co., and it is an honor to have the opportunity to share our (all the wonderful people in our team's) work in this Media studies class, where the fundamentals of the media production process is thoroughly taught.

Why might a Media studies class be important and useful in daily life?

First, the study of media, and its products, are crucial to learn because what every individual consumes influences how they think, speak, act and how they operate different aspects of their life. For example, a media platform that I have used since early childhood is YouTube. While YouTube is constantly evolving, one thing that never changed was the ability for creators to express themselves, teach, entertain, and sponsor their favorite products. This is part of the reason I, and others my age (teenagers) find the app charming, because there is a wholesome, unifying experience that comes from doing that. While I spend most of my days devouring content from YouTube legends, I failed to notice how deeply I have invested in this platform; this is the part where Media Studies comes in. The material taught in Media Studies is interesting because it explains topics that I have wondered such as how major companies behind these platforms can effectively strategize their craft to make it so addictive, something society relies on, and its its effects in the modern world.

What are we going to create in this class?

Secondly, once our class has learned the techniques of how to create a captivating media product and the components of producing a film, we will then begin the filmmaking process. The mission of my team and I is to create an opening of a film. An opening film is presenting a short preview an upcoming film. Opening films contain the title, the names of the production team and cast members working on the film, a teaser to enthrall viewers to watch the film, all while utilizing stunning visuals, and sound to captivate the audience. Some examples of film openings include, but are not limited to, “Scream,” “The Matrix,” “They Cloned Tyrone,” and “Batman.”

What will our film be about?

Speaking of these iconic films, our team is aiming to construct a film piece that has elements of satire, horror, and a teen-dramedy aura. The reason we made our target audience teens and our teacher is because they are the main demographic of those who will view our work. We would like to entertain our audience while bringing up relatable issues surrounding school, everyday products we intake, how those things program the brain, and to use comedy and horror to do so. Using slight psychological thriller will most likely help our viewers to consider and ponder the things that we see casually, but may not be as innocent as we perceive. While, we do not intend to instill panic or paranoia, we plan to use just-enough horror factors to convey our message. If you are wondering, how we will be able to pull off this complex concept, we will hold ourselves accountable on how we present our media. What that means is, we are held responsible for using an appropriate camera/ recording device, intricate editing software, sound effects, actors, actresses, and music to ensure our film is incomparable. Once we have all the above prepared to create and release, our film will be out in the public by Spring of 2024.

How will we be able to execute this project?

On a final note, it is important to say that our team has a vision in mind and here is how we will do exhibit. We will start off by making sure this blog is always up to date on the latest progress of our filmmaking process. Once our platforms are finished being made, we plan to utilize the spaces of our school, and possibly our personal homes, to give a familiar atmosphere for the viewers to relate to the characters, or experience another person’s point of view. The empty hallways of this large school, with its many secret entrances and rooms will make a perfect setting for the theme we intend to display. Next, we will take advantage of the resources that are available to our team via our phones for recording, our laptops for editing, music, and sounds effects, and references from other upcoming films in the entertainment industry. Lastly, with the help of our extraordinary group of Bengal actors and actress, we will collaborate with them to create our masterpiece, and then our film will be published to be viewed by all who wishes to see.

                         F I N A L    T H O U G H T S

Ultimately, these strategies will be the foundation that holds all the ingredients of our film together. Without one of these, our film will be likely to fall apart or not be our best work. As long as our team complements each other’s ideas, listens to criticism, is cooperative, and that we have access to all of the necessary parts (as stated above) for our project we are unstoppable. To add, we will also take heed to the guidance from our teachers and Cambridge’s reference sources to guarantee that our group will receive a score that it deserves, depending on the work, time, and effort that is put into making this film. Thank you so much for reading, and stay tuned for more posts!
